Recorded over a decade ago, Parallel Thought teamed up with Swave Sevah to create Hell Up In Harlem. While some lyrics and beats have been tweaked and updated, the album remains timeless and in some cases even more poignant today.

Born and raised in Harlem, New York, Swave Sevah is widely considered an unsung hip-hop legend. In the years since recording Hell Up in Harlem, Swave worked hard to make a name for himself in the Battle Rap arena and created one the most famous hip hop battle brands, Team Homi, which boasts a global membership of 40 + people. He has also been on countless tours with Immortal Technique, performing to packed stadiums across the world.

Parallel Thought is fresh off their 2019 album, The Wild End with legendary Indie Chicago rapper, Tree. More recently they produced the music of a Chase Sapphire Reserve nationally televised commercial.

The album’s carefully selected cover photo was licensed from well-known NYC photographer Camilo Vergara. Who is famous for his "photographic documentation of American slums and decaying urban environments”. The album photograph serves as metaphor of the struggles the community faced and their fight to overcome. This photo along with his other works can be found in the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

Still sharp as ever this album gives a unique glimpse into a star in the making. Capitulating a special time in Swave's & Parallel Thoughts early career. Fresh as ever, it stood the test of time and is finally ready for public consumption.
